Adding files, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, html, to your FrontPage Web Site

Adding HTML or Other Kinds of Files / Documents

There are two ways to add files / documents to your FrontPage web site.

Include Page

Import File


The FrontPage Guestbook Template uses the Include Page Component. Guestbook submissions write to a page called guestlog.htm. The guestbook. htm 'includes' the guestlog.htm. Take a look at the Guestbook Page. Use your browser's back button or the Include Page link to return here.	Importing non HTML files, like a Word document, an Excel workbook, a PowerPoint show into your web site are a snap. The rub is, in order to view those files your audience must be using MS Internet Explorer. For example, try the link below. *Warning: There is SOUND* and you will need to use the browser BACK button to exit and return here.**

Importing Files - HTML or Not HTML - It's all the same.

From the [File] menu in Explorer choose [Import]

Include Page / Scheduled Include Page

[Insert] Menu, [FrontPage Component], Include Page

Set date and time to "include" exchange one page for another.

Note: If you do not want users to be able to directly visit a page that you are including on other pages, move the page you are including to the _private folder in the current FrontPage web.

Scheduled Include Page is a FrontPage Component. See the dialog box above. I've added a 'Scheduled Include Page below. The page's file name is includp1.htm.
