Importing Websites

bulletImporting an existing web site into FrontPage is really creating a new FrontPage Web.
bulletFrom FrontPage Explorer
bulletChoose [File] [New] [FrontPage Web]
bulletThen select .. Import an Existing Web
bulletTake a look at the location for the 'new' web and modify if necessary.  For more information see Creating Web Sites.

bulletNext, the Import Web Wizard is launched.  Select where you want to import from, an existing directory on your computer or network ..OR.. the big WWW?

bulletLimit how much of the site you download with this dialog box.

bulletAt this point the Import Web Wizard takes over.  In this example the WWW site is being imported to D:\Import and FrontPage has assigned it the name '<Root Web>'

bulletNote:  FrontPage will not import a navigation structure unless one existed in the first place.  Remember ... Navigation View is a FrontPage only feature.

Another option for importing pages into an existing web site can be found on the file menu in Explorer.  See Adding Files for more information.
